Unlike most of the folks on this forum some people are working for food, shelter, cloths and hopefully health insurance. They cannot afford to lose a job because of a health condition called pregnancy. They make the rational decision to have an abortion. THAT IS THEIR CONCERN AND NONE OF YOURS!
The real sinner in this situation is the employer that would fire a woman instead of offering all the help she needs to have and raise a child. That is the kind of callousness I have come to expect for the Mammon worshiping jerks that run our commerce.
I'm not going to comment one way or the other regarding abortion. However; I can sympathize to a degree with what you're saying about some employers. When my wife and I got married she was the office manager of a small company. After almost 2 years of marriage we decided to plan for a child. She got pregnant and after a miscarriage we waited briefly, and tried again. The 2nd time we successfully conceived my son, and 4 months in they cut her hours from 40 to 25. They were still making her handle her 40 hours worth of duties, getting calls at home at all hours trying to schedule sales reps and techs, and setting up their accomodations, and transportation. It was still better than getting laid off, but nevertheless, I can see an employer pulling something like that. We suspected it, but couldn't prove it. At any rate, thank goodness I was making good money, and was able to pick up the slack at the time. Personally for us abortion wasn't an option. And considering my wife had a miscarriage prior to conceiving our son... well... you can understand why it wasn't nor ever WOULD be an option for us other than for a reason that would have put her life in serious danger.

Right. Just have the kid...get some food stamps and WIC. So what if your husband lost his job and you already have two kids. Or better yet...have the child and put it up for adoption for a wealthy family....and when your husband lost his job...there went the health insurance for birth control...why not just lose your job too...I guess poor folks are just supposed to be more careful.

If you want kids, the best option is just to live together and never get married. File your taxes as single and let her file hers as single head of household and you get back lots more than if you file married. Plus, if her income is low enough, she can claim foodstamps and MediCal for the children.
The botton line for these, mostly male, RWNJ's is women should not have sex and poor people should not exist. Pregnant poor women are beyond consideration.

They are the "untouchable caste".
