In Kansas where they are requiring a photo ID to vote in a general election for the first time this year you can go to the driver licensing people and get a free ID. Yes you do have to travel there to get the picture taken and it will be just like the driver license but won't cost one penny. Do you consider this to be a form of poll tax? Spin it some way.

Did you just say that some states don't charge for a driver license? Which ones would that be?

It isn't a fundamental right for anyone but citizens. Are we to take the word of anyone who says they are? It became an issue when it was discovered that non citizens and people using dead people's names were voting.

Actually once again I have a need to correct people. There is no RIGHT to vote. Thats how they can deny people in prison, or those with criminal records the ability to register to vote.

He said that some states are still charging for drivers licenses which implies to me that some aren't. Sorry but I read the words and just reread them and find that they still say the same thing, to me.

At the polling station, they have to produce voter registration cards. At the convention, it's a security measure. If Americans have been able to vote for the last 200 years, approximately, without photo ID, why should they have to now? What's the fuss about?
