From what I understand the Cheney family has no problem with Gay marriage.
They didn't have any problems with civil unions. remember when VP Cheney famously said that any committed couple should have the ability to freely enter into a contract, that "freedom meant freedom for everyone". He nor his spawn ever came out and said the word "marriage". Shouldn't Cheney and her partner have gotten married in a civil union state instead. That might have fit more into their world view.
They commented they were very happy about her marriage.
There are a lot of gray areas in Dem/Rep politics...not every Rep is going to be against gay marriage....not every Dem is going to support gay marriage.

You know, the folks you guys should be bitching about are the closeted gay Democratic legislators at the state level who consistently vote against gay rights initiatives.
Hypocrite Cheney daughter marries her long time partner in DC
Did the Cheney's pick where their daughter got married or did she choose? I don't see where the hypocrite come into it at all, he has always supported his daughter.
And yet she and her family still consider themselves to be proud republics.
If she considers herself a Republican, perhaps she isn't a single-issue voter.
