I think this thread fits into the "well, duh!" category. Apparently the OP doesn't understand the entire purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to allow the people to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.

This was in pre-iron age Africa, and their stone weapons were no match for Spanish swords and Portuguese warriors. They were, however, armed.

Native americans were armed and still they were raped......Being armed helps but being grossly out numbered is key to asymmetric warfare.
