Perfectly executed. Just wait until people actually figure out what a deductible is. Co-pay is one thing, I can't wait to see the backlash when they don't understand what a deductible is and how it went to 4 grand from 1 grand. There are a lot of people who don't even understand what the heck is going on. Let's be honest, the people who support this are the 36% supporters in polls, but either think it's a terrific idea, or don't understand a lick of what entails the whole concept of insurance. The patients that walked into the ER and wanted treatment.
If you've never been at the ER after 5pm, you have no clue. Think about this. Patients either don't have insurance or won't commit to a primary care doctor. So, what happens is they come into the ED after work. Do you ever wonder why the ED wait times are up to 5 hours at night? And doesn't clear up until the next morning?
They get treatment regardless if they have coverage. But this isn't going to change. With the numbers that were dropped from coverage after this passed and the number that joined, do you even understand the number that don't care anyhow? Hospitals and primary care physicians have no idea for 3 months if they will be reimbursed. Think they will take that chance?
This isn't a zero sum game. So many people are naïve. It's a business. And this whole law is an abortion. If you think it's just all hunky dory, I cannot help you. You'll never 'get' it.
But, whomever loses healthcare and voted for this or a politician that voted for it, please let me know. I would enjoy laughing at that.
