This could be first election in 80 years with no military service on either ticket


The last time a presidential election was held in which neither ticket included a former military service member, the Chicago Cubs had just played in the World Series, Al Capone was furnishing his prison cell, and a gallon of gas cost a dime.

so whats your point? i have not seen anywhere in the constitution that one of the requirements for being president is military service.

Good. I don't see the problem with it. It wasn't like the last veteran prez was a military genius. Hell, he was mired in 2 wars and made little to ZERO progress in both of them.

Well, I do find that interesting. This country does have a long tradition of selecting veterans as president.

I don't see this as a problem, even though neither Romney or Obama excite me much.

Being in the military doesn't automatically make a person fit for public office.

Precisely. The only thing it does is makes them war hungry because fighting is how they've been trained to take care of their problems.

A soldier and politician play two separate roles.

Why does there have to be a point ?

It's just info ... that is why it made news, and some people may like it.
