My position as is the position of most conservatives is public funding of education is essential, note I didn't say funding of public education. Public education is obviously failing on many fronts and it's time to steer towards a different course. By introducing competition for these funds amongst both public and private schools you can only see an improvement, poorly performing schools will fail as they should and go bye bye.

My opinion on education has never changed. I want to provide the best possible education for every child in this country, I believe that to be essential. Where my views differ from your own is how we educate children.

If you want to patronize a private business, pay for it.

What I will add is this, any school receiving public funds should have to meet some form of educational requirements, the students should be tested and would have to meet some basic standards for Math, reading, sciences etc.

Explain, public funding of private education has always been a thing Conservatives have advocated for.

So your position is not about providing the best possible education to students but instead a political one, gotcha.

Sounds like big gubiment to me.

Will they pay for my vacation and give me the choice of where I can go, we can call it empowerment.

Funny how if the money were to go to health care you'd call it socialism, but because it goes to school its freedom.
We already are paying for millions of vacations. Its called welfare.
