Anecdote =/= data.

But your outrage is funny.

I have insurance and even with the flight, it's cheaper in SE Asia.

Of course less regulations and the insurance companies are not screwing people with high administration cost

They are specialist and not family physicians, so of course their fees would be higher because of the extra schooling and time thus demand how much that they charge. The new healthcare law only limits them to how much more they can charge under medicare/medicaid

Kinda like getting a tune up. J/K. I saw a flying pig, and hell has infarct froze, as i agree with you.
I would love the U.S. to set up a system similar to Thailand's. If I am not mistaken Thailand's private care is among the highest quality and most efficient in the world.

Chielgirl, in one of your zinger one-liners in this thread you mentioned "what does it mean to be in the medical field?" Of course you directed that to me and of course I laughed for 10 minutes, because either A) you really don't know the answer, or B) you are just trying to make me look stupid. Now I tend to go with B here because that is your style.

I have spoken to many doctor's nurses, Adm, blah blah, and the one thing we all agree on is Healthcare needs an overhaul. I realize I am only one man, and getting these changes that would benefit the doctor's nurse's and especially the patients must start somewhere.

Just because I am a Republican does not mean i agree with the system. I would never consider taking the earning of say a trauma surgeon. Also, someone mentioned nurse's make to much. To the person who said nurse's make to much, please come spend a 5 day 16 hour shift with me in a Level one Trauma unit then tell me that. Has anyone ever pondered what happens to the doctors and nurses who finish last in his or her class? Better skills, better pay.

I disagree with the less regulation.
There's a large industry with medical tourism.
It's quite regulated.

I don't use my insurance at all.

I'm glad you're in the medical field. Maybe you can answer some of my questions. Why do doctors feel superior and think their time is more valuable than mine. I see them chit chatting with each other while I wait sometimes an hour. And I am the only one in the waiting room And then when they finally see me, they rush me out within 10 minutes like they have so many people waiting to see them What exactly is that all about???

Another doctor b*tching because the days of them outright gouging the public is about to come to an end.

Natalie469, having never worked in a doctors office, I am probably not the right person to ask. But I do agree with you on having to wait long periods of time at the doctors office. Why bother making an appointment time if you aren't going to be seen for another hour. I wish there was a way for us to bill the doctors for every minute longer we have to wait. In your post you gave an example of being the only patient waiting and you still had to wait an hour. Not sure if your doctor was one of the doctors you saw chit-chatting, but I would be angry too.

As far as doctors being pompous, some do have that "God complex." LOL !! On the other hand some are very nice human beings.
