excellent post, steven. Gun control, like so many big-gov't initatives, can be traced back to racism. And blacks & Hispanics are more likely to be victims of violent crime, so denying people the ability to defend themselves impacts minorities disproportionately.
I was once a member of the NRA.. I am still a gun owner but not a member of the NRA any more. I grew weary of the fear mongering. The UN will take our guns. Obama will take our guns..
I am no Obama supporterbut believe in fair play. I have not seen him attempt anything that would lead me to believe that he is trying to take anyones guns.
Easy enough to dodge: DON'T check "Hispanic" on the form. Not all people with the name "Rodriguez" and so on are Hispanic, even "brown" ones like people from the Philippines.

It really makes you wonder what Obama really is all about doesn't it. He supplied the cartels with the weapons that killed many thousands, even lied about it until he couldn't lie any more.
