During his run for the presidency in 2008, Barack Obama praised the work requirements that were the centerpiece of welfare reform — the very requirements his administration just gutted last week.
During a discussion with pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback Church, Obama declared:

Quote:
“[O]ne of the things that I am absolutely convinced of is that we have to work as a centerpiece of any social policy."

Obama’s administration last Thursday gutted the work requirements that were part of reforms to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program in 1996. The welfare reform law became a signature accomplishment for President Bill Clinton and the Republican-led Congress.

Why the Flip-Flop???

We know and Democrats know as well. Bottom line his voting public has a large percentage on the dole and rather than make them more responsible to become taxpayers when they don't want to work it is easier to hand out our tax funds from an empty Treasury in exchange for a Democrat vote.

They are beyond pathetic!

You can't be insinuating that he did it purely for political expediency (ie: pandering or saying anything to get elected)???

[/sarcasm]

Conservatives worry so much that someone may be getting something for nothing when they should be more thankful that they're surely better off and should, instead, be counting their blessings.

Just to educate you......

Many studies show and prove that CONSERVATIVES donate more to charity to help those who cannot help themselves by donating directing and voluntarily to programs that actually do help the needy.

Not to a government that squanders the money with lavish Las Vegas parties like the GSA.

The KEY is that they do it VOLUNTARLY and not by having government reach in their pocket and demand it from them.

Families that earn a living want everyone else out their busting their rear ends to work and pay taxes.
They do count their blessings, but with Democrats they are ALSO more and more stuck watching non-family constantly sticking their hands in their wallets for the money they earned for their own family.

Go to work unless you are elderly or disabled.
There is no such thing as a bad job. There is no shame in a job, but there is shame in people who enable many to not work and take money out of productive peoples wallets.

If people are willing to take a lower job, how is it possible to not work after many months unless you are scary looking and have no brain?
