Maybe because the lowest population is now 25 years old and is now beginning to get married and start a family. Smaller generation of parents smaller generation of offpring.
Hopefully this means the pregnancy rate among unwed mothers is going down as well. Single moms on welfare programs are a major reason we are in a debt crisis.

LOL!
I see you took the pledge to never let facts or total lack of knowledge of our economy get in your way....
Please reconsider your """Birthrate sinks because no one likes sex in a bad economy"""
Really?
NO ONE ...think that over and I'm sure the impossibility will sink in after a while.
One reason could be that some people realize that children cost a LOT of money....good for them if they then decide to wait...by USING BIRTH CONTOL....
Birth rates in the US have actually been in gradual decline for around four decades now. The recession sharpened the drop, but the trend was already established.
Could it be because people are being a bit more responsible and taking into consideration that it is expensive to have children and now might not be the time?
Of course the government will step in and fix that. They after all don't want you to save any money. That is why they offered up nonsense like cash for clunkers. Incentive to go in debt further. That is why CD rates are so low and they are handed out mortgages to anybody in line for a while to get people in debt. They don't like it when people save money and don't have to rely big bro.
