I doubt the insurance industry would like that, If anything they would like to impose lower speed limits so states could report offenders to the insurance companys than raise the rates.
I believe most of the traffic laws have more to do with insurance companies lobbyist and city and state revenues than anything else.
All the above so far. Seat Belt laws, mandatory insurance. I am sure I will think of some more. Did you know New Hampshire doesn't require car insurance yet 86% of residents of New Hampshire do have car insurance. Personally I don't want to have to carry drivers license or social security cards its just a way of the state keeping track of its subjects.
Actualy it is 93%. Also no seatbelt laws yet we have 1% higher seatbelt usage then neighboring Massachusetts.
And most tires aren't designed for speeds must faster than that (especially on hot days).
Just because you don't have a speed limit does not mean that you have to go faster than 80. If you want to go faster than that, buy some tires that have the ability to withstand that speed.
I tell you what. i will vote for that if you will vote to get rid of speed limits on the interstate.
Works for me. Hell around here folks do 75 in a 55. Myself included.
