It was to be their big day, but a Jackson couple says the church where they were planning to wed turned them away because of race.
Now, the couple wants answers, and the church's pastor is questioning the mindset of some of members of his congregation who caused the problem in the first place.
They had set the date and printed and mailed out all the invitations, but the day before wedding bells were to ring for Charles and Te'Andrea Wilson, they say they got some bad news from the pastor.
"The church congregation had decided no black could be married at that church, and that if he went on to marry her, then they would vote him out the church," said Charles Wilson.
The Wilsons were trying to get married at the predominantly white First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs -- a church they attend regularly, but are not members of.
Sure glad i don't know any member of that so called church!

The bolded. That makes no sense at all. You don't fill out membership papers to join a church you just attend. I got a feeling they did this on purpose to cause a scene and the church members put a stop to it as they should be allowed to do. Nothing racist about it its about personal choice.

What membership papers. Why should they have to be church members to have a wedding there? Before them the church didn't say anything about it. You are trying to make excuses for the racist church. The church it self said NO! because they are black.

No no. I said it didn't make sense that they claim they aren't members of the church yet they attend it regularly. Its bs if ya think about it. The church allows them to attend church there yet won't let them have a wedding? Give me a break either they are lying or there is a different reason for not letting them have it there.

Something's not adding up. It's predominantly white, which implies that it's not exclusively white. Which is even more confusing.
Well, they always portray Jesus in paintings as Anglo-Saxon looking. If there was a Jesus, he did not look anything like they would would have liked him to. He would have looked like an Arab, therefore, Jesus was not of their race, but they do not want to admit that.

It could also be Asian or Native American.
