Like someone will do something about it, right. Is someone going to be prosecuted or maybe go to jail, I think not. Most likely they'll get a promotion and make more money and do less work. Let me be King for five years and I'll clean house in Washington DC. But we will need to build more and bigger prisons.

Did this story (the political appointee interference scandal) get any traction in the media?

I'm just reading about it now and don't recall ever hearing about it before.

How does this not impact a Presidential candidate?

The candidate is Obama, so no, it wont impact him because liberals/media will simply look the other way as they always do.

Notice how every single tiny thing that can be even remotely negative for Romney, gets played up by all media outlets. Yet most of the negatives about Obama Admin does not.

It is hard to win an election against a liberal, when you have to fight the fact that the media does NOT inform the public of all the negatives... unless of course its the non-liberal candidate.
