Your bafflement isn't all that surprising, even after providing you with the simplest illustration of the difference between religious discrimination (un-protected) and discrimination based upon secular politics (protected).
That shouldn't matter, if they're paying for the hotel and not bothering any other guests then it shouldn't be an issue.

That's not apples-to-apples. Suppose the Abu Nidal Organization were throwing a party in my hotel. Yes, I'd have a problem with that.
I believe private business owners should be able to discriminate if they wish.
