My thought is I hope someday there's a treatment for people suffering from having no sense of humor.
Or maybe they'll make an app for that. "Press here to get the joke". The inventor of that will make a bundle. (A great big red, white and blue button for all the conservatives would probably be appreciated.)

Why is it whenever a politician finds what he/she/it says to be offensive it's either "a joke" or "they were misquoted"
