Failure. He did accomplish some of the things he set out to do, like end DADT, but he was highly ineffective in general. He controlled both houses for some time and couldn't get anything done. He also betrayed much of his more independent base by continuing bailouts, and signing bills like the NDADA, and he made protesting a felony. The economy is a mess, and debt has soared. I don't know how any independent person can support him. He is a letdown at best.

With the deck of cards he was handed upon taking office, perhaps someone could suggest who would have SURELY done better. It's not that easy, is it?
