Which native Americans, the oldest ones found, the Asians?

Some reservations are only delineated on a map. A person could walk across some metro street and be on rez land and never know it. Other reservations are big and isolated, while still other reservations have as many non-natives living on them as natives.

While most of these widely varied conditions date back to interaction with the white man 150 years ago or more, many have to do with rivalries, old and new, between different tribes. Still others have conditions that arose from even earlier differences between natives and the Mexicans, or the Spanish, or the Canadians, the French, British, the Netherlands, Russia, and every other nation that had anything to do with the opening of the New World and the settling of the American continents.

The tribes that fought the fiercest against the newcomers got the worst of the deals that followed. Some of those conflicts are now so old that how hard a tribe fought simply doesn't matter much anymore, and other tribes are still suffering from the revenge that followed after their final defeat.

Are they all going to get their lands back? Nope. Will some tribes overcome their present conditions? Sure. Will some continue to have problems for decades to come? Yup.

Our natives understand all this. Some still have many struggles to go, and some have very few. What's happening is the re-vitalization of native cultures all over, and that was entirely predictable, considering than many of the cultures were stopped cold after a last defeat and then intentional efforts were made to erase them completely. Native Americans are finding their own ways to reach a balance now, just like the Germans, Irish, Italians, Swedes, Chinese, and all the other cultures did.
The Coeur d' Alene tribe in Idaho seems to be doing pretty well......something to be proud of..............

I doubt Hispanics will take them in. You have to practically twist a Hispanic's arm for them to even admit their native blood.

Ironic though. It seems every blonde blue-eyed person I meet is eager to claim that they are partially Native American.

And no. They won't get their lands back. Native Americans also pillaged and took away land from other tribes. Europeans were playing by the same rules that they did and they lost.

I think in the future I would expect the treatment of Native Americans to be better. Not because of demographics, but because I think their economic situation will continue to improve as it has been doing so for quite some time now.

Why would they?

[is there an expectation for such a thing to occur?]

Maybe hundreds of years ago, too much has been ruined (genocide, stealing of their land, wiping away their culture)to fix it now .

If we have to go by how Mexicans these days treat their natives, who are a much larger proportion of their population than in the US, the Native Americans would fare no better, if not worse
