Do Americans have a common culture anymore? A common set of bedrock beliefs?

If so, what is that culture? What are those beliefs?

Is it enough to hold a nation together?

Obviously we have a common culture and set of beliefs.

And the nation is holding together just fine.

I don't get the alarmist stuff when this topic is brought up.

.

Today the common American culture is illiteracy, degeneracy, and perversion - calling good evil and evil good -
and in their sick distortion thinking they are the greatest thing to grace the planet since Sodom.

I don't believe there was ever a common culture.

How about answering the follow up questions? What defines our culture? What are those beliefs?

Let me just note, at this point, that no one seems to be arguing with you.

There is a Webster's definition for Culture. Look it up. If you ask 10 different people what culture is, you'll get 10 different answers. This nation isn't made up of a homogeneous group of people, we're made up of many people. So that answer is far more complicated than what it would be in a place like...Sweden for example.

What are those beliefs? Again, depends on who you ask. But for the most part, the main belief is in "the uniqueness of our nation" and everything relative to that.

The bottom line is that whatever those beliefs are, they've been enough to hold the country together up to this point and i don't see that coming to an end in my lifetime.

Have you visited another country? Go to Japan for a week or so, and tell me if you think there are cultural differences then you would expect if you had visited any other state in the union.

Well, i don't buy that although i don't think you're not TOTALLY wrong. There is a morsel of truth in what you're saying, but i'd like to think that your comment refers to a small number of Americans.
