Basically, you guys aren't making a whole lot of sense as you can have oppression of personal rights under any sort of economic system.

Want some examples from US history? We had this going on wayyyyy before FDR's new deal and the imposition of social programs that you are lamenting.
Yes, but when you talk bad about the president, your don't get thrown in jail for years....

Just ask Teddie....

I can't even begin to follow what you are trying to say and you ignored the fact that you are bitching about an economic system in one breath and a political system in another while the two are not related in this case.

I'm glad you are enjoying the show.

Russians know lawlessness and perversion will always catch the western eye.

But what did you really see ?

What I find curious is this:

When the all girl band "performed" in front of the icon screen [the altar is behind the screen]
they all managed to wear headcoverings [mandated for women in Russian Orthodox churches]
and played no musical instruments [which are not allowed in Russian Orthodox churches.]

Hey OP, time to brush up on your US history. Please note this was before social security, workers' compensation laws and any form of social cradle to grave help.

Raw capitalism, just like what they have in China and the USSR now.

If Obama gets elected for a second term, we'll look increasingly more like Russia but under the more genteel term of "socialist".
Putin cracks down on dissidents and you manage to turn this into a bash Obama thread????
