america doesn't like things that are good and humane for everyone, and that have been proven to work in other developed countries. They don't like universal health care, legal prostitution, mandatory vacations for employees, multiculturalism and a diverse population, younger drinking age, and the list goes on. Some say america is a center right wing nation, but I think it's far right wing. Obviously not as far right as say nazi Germany was, but still further to the right then it should be. Most other industrialized nations lean more to the left, and that's the way america should be. america's flaw is that it's waay too conservative and it needs to be more humanitarian.

Since when was the Nazi party "right wing"

Follow the path. The more government intervention we get in this country, the worse things get. Today, we have a bloated government sector, an entire class of parasites, deficit spending is the norm, and a president who is talking about nationalizing the entire manufacturing sector... The fact that this doesn't appear to be scaring the crap out of people is scaring the crap out of me.

When you speak "humanitarian"... Ever hear the term "compassionate conservatism"? That entails providing general support, but encouraging individuals to overcome their own obstacles. The government can't fix every wrong in the world, so don't count on them to do so. People have to put on the big boy and girl shoes and continue to strive forward as best they can. Aside from that, government is far too inefficient to solve everyone's problems.

Frankly, what is wrong with America today is we have strayed far away from the core values and free market principles that made this country great, and a beacon of hope for the world. Today, we seem to be a hollow shell, occupied by hollow people whose only satisfaction in life comes from accumulating cheap, breakable goods and eating disgusting food. Prosperity???

I know, I know, Hitler was a vegetarian so that makes him liberal.

Yes, that's right... The Nazis didn't dictate their economy and impose their will on the masses. Gee, all kinds of propaganda and government meddling going on during that period of time. Kinda sounds like what our communist in chief would love to impose on America. Hmm... Who signed NDAA??? Who gave us public risk, private profits?

And I would really like to know how conservatives view these groups as "parasitic", other than communists which should be obvious.

Sounds like another liberal frothing at the mouth cause you didn't get your way. Maybe your upset because the majority of Americans don't share your opinion???

Because people havent learned that this 2 party system isnt working. The Dems and Reps just like to throw stones at each other without realizing how divided this nation has become because of that. And the politicians regardless of party, are the ones smiling.

No administration has gone back and fixed what the previous administration has eff'd up. Instead every administration just adds to the chaos.

Nobody researches the candidates. The just vote for the one the media portrays as the most popular vote. Anyone that has done their research and pays attention to whats going on, would know that Ron Paul should have been the Republican nominee.

I agree and that's the main problem with america, it's far too much to the right.

Today's GOP are the hard right party and the tea party the radical right, with the democrats the center/right.

Corporatist fascism is the plague of america that continues to destroy it.

Forget the partisan political divide. They're just leading you around by the nose and creating boogeymen under your bed. Look out! Communist! Fascist! Oooooooh! Gonna get you if you don't vote for ME!

America has only one metaphor: money. And I don't care if you're a right-winger or a left-winger, that's your goal and your god. I hasten to add that this doesn't mean that you're an evil person. You're just a product of your history and culture, like every other nationality.

People carry the weight of centuries around on their back. Asians carry their families and distant ancestors. This makes them obedient, respectful and careful. Europeans carry the vast cemeteries of their many wars and hatreds, along with epochal social movements. This inclines them toward pacifism, state socialism, and a consciously aesthetic approach to their surroundings. Middle Easterners live as aliens in the present, worshipping as they do their golden past, in a language locked into antiquity. This makes them envious, vengeful, and heart-breakingly generous. South Americans carry the blend of African mysticism, indigenous atavism and Hispanic adventure and conquest. This makes them fantastic, fatalistic, and spectacularly musical.

And we Americans? Conflicted. Puritans who became Progressives. Royalists who became slaveowners. Quakers who withdrew. Germans hungry for land. Irish hungry for power. The insane, anti-social, and ambitious who lit out across the mountains, one range at a time. A melange of peoples, backgrounds, and goals. A cacaphony of languages. We gave birth to a legal Constitution which sought to free us from the constraints of our backgrounds and to unify us as a people. We succeeded only to the degree that we became free to grow wealthy, either through our own efforts or those of a benevolent government.

There is a unanimity in America, but it is based on wealth as a default religion. Look at those whom we admire and seek to emulate...
