And I love how people like you think they solely own any public sector employee as if the public sector employee himself is not a tax payer and is just some robot automatron. I bring up "wars" because it is the same ridiculous example that you are using. You think you have some sort of say or control in how your tax dollars are used. You think you should have some control over this block of employees because they are paid out of tax dollars. Well, wars are paid out of tax dollars too. As are schools. If I feel like I should have some sort of extra control over civil servants, then I should get the same type of authority with the wars we choose to enter into, what type of equipment our troops should and should not have, how many troops we should have, how many hours they should work, etc. I should also have the right to be personally aggravated if a public employee gets one penny more in benefits than I do because I chose a different path or that if the economy is doing poorly and I might not be doing that well today, then, dammit, they should suffer too.
This whole ownership attitude is just weird. But if you're going to have it, at least be consistent about it and extend it equally among everything that you "own" because you've paid for it.
I'm still puzzled by the links you've posted to somehow justify your need to own civil servants. 1. You tried to tell me they don't really pay taxes because, clearly, 250,000 of them are delinquent on their taxes ergo they don't really pay their own salaries. And, 2, because Orrin Hatch says that I can send in extra money on my tax returns this is somehow a defense of your position? Or you think that *I* think they aren't "swaddled." I think you just sound bitter and jealous and instead of just saying you wish you had a government job, you want to throw out cute quips and fast links because you think it's cool. Carry on.
That thing you said about wars...why do you use that as a defense of your argument? What is your point? Did I say that you (as a taxpayer) shouldn't decide the fate of our warfighters? Your point, whatever it is, doesn't seem to go anywhere.
On the other hand your point that I as a taxpayer should just shut up and sign the checks and never wish to have any say over how my money is wasted is very clear...and very democrat party.

Some of us don't "wish to have a government job" because some of us have a little self-respect and wish to maintain our good work ethic.
(That is directed toward the 40% of government slackers who are watching the calendar and their TSP accounts until retirement NOT toward the government scientists, pilots and other specialized professionals that actually make me proud to pay taxes.)
