Unfortunately people do stupid things. If this group wants to insure a problem free gathering, hold it in your private mosque.

Yes, the benefit of ALL - including those who wish to worship in peace, without having to worry about prejudice or malice.

I'm sorry, but how is this an issue of being "politically correct?" Oh, I forgot - that's just the new euphemism for "acting like civilized human beings." How gauche.

Lame. How often are hate crimes EVER prosecuted as such, regardless of the race/religion of everyone involved? I swear, you guys are just regurgitating FOX News catch-phrases at this point.

Yeh I did. So it's just a "hate crime" without any reference to penal code? Maybe my legalese is slacking, but I thought hate crime insinuated\ a motivating force behind an actual crime. So if I kill someone, but it's because they're <enter grouping here>, it becomes a hate crime.

So then pick up the bacon, throw it out and carry on with your ceremony. Time to put your big boy pants on and deal with it. The fact that police resources are being used for this is crazy. Don't belittle true hate crimes where people are injured by linking an piece of meat to the crime of the century.

mmmm... bacon

A New York City newspaper says it received an anonymous call from a person claiming to have discarded spoiled bacon in a park where Muslims had scheduled Ramadan prayers.

The caller said he was putting it out for seagulls and raccoons to eat, not as an anti-Muslim statement.
Caller: Bacon was for animals, not anti-Muslim act - WTOP.com

If you read the article, you'll see that's exactly what they did... one person merely reported the incident, and the NYPD took things from there.

I agree it's not worth getting too excited over, but anyone who claims this was just a coincidence or "meaningless" is obviously feigning ignorance. Can you deny this country has become increasingly anti(innocent)-Muslim in the last decade?
