Evangelicals make up a huge percentage of the voting population and they overwhelmingly support the right-wing nonsense that the GOP has had to pander to for the last 20-30 years.

Would it become a Libertarian paradise? A Socialist utopia? A Communist commune?

What would happen to the TEA Party?

What would happen to the GOP? Would sane minds like Gary Johnson be welcomed back into the fold? Would the party become the party of Ron Paul disciples?

If the Evangelicals vanished, how much better off would we be?

Heaven on Earth. (Please, God, isn't it time for the Rapture yet???)

We would be hands down the most successful country in the world with no one else even close.

Empty. Black people are mostly Christians. Hispanics are mostly Christian. White people are mostly Christian. For some odd reason, your reasoning seems to imply that only conservative people will disappear. That's what you call liberal intelligence in action. And precisely why we laugh at and mock your types at every opportunity.

Go back and reread the OP, Aero, we're talking about the fundamentalist Evangelicals, aka the American Taliban, NOT Christians in general. And yes, they are all Conservatives.

The OP didn't say CHRISTIANS--they said the Christian right. There's a huge difference. Lots of Christians aren't right wing radical extremists.

As far as the tea party goes--it doesn't look like there's a separate group. They're all "teavangelicals."

"Evangelical" is a term that fluctuates according to the Liberal Distaste of the Moment. When you want to talk about black and hispanic evangelical voters, "evengelicals" take on a different meaning than when you want to discuss white evangelical voters. That's why we don't take any of you seriously. Your Flavor of The Day™ approach to hating God is an ignorant basis for a political argument.

We'd finally be able to officially reinstate "The Age of Enlightenment". Yes, the actual philosophies embraced by the Founders.

I don't hate God, but I very much dislike people who use him to force conformity to their dogma, and that describes American fundamentalists to a T.

And that's okay, Aero, no one here takes you seriously either.

There would be a hell of a lot more critical thinking going on, and so many less distractions. Oh, the possibilities.
