1. GHW Bush & Dukakis
2. GW Bush & Kerry
3. GW Bush & Gore

Keep in mind the 1988 race was fought over flag amendments and furloughs in Massachusetts. Easily the worst race in my lifetime.

I cast my first vote in a presidential race in 1980, but I was really into the 1976 Election.

Seriously?

If Obama and Romney are the best you can muster up out of 312 Million people, then may whatever god you believe in have mercy on your soul.

Seriously...

Every presidential race is a no-win contest for everyone, in some way.

No different this time.

The problem with your analysis is Obama had four years and you are right, we have yet to see what Romney can do and he may turn this ship around. So what you think is not at all accurate.

I concur with your assessment and would further add Clinton/Dole to your list. Definitely not as bad as Obama/McCain, or Carter/Ford, but certainly one of the worst campaigns.

All that I can remember actually...going back to Clinton/Bush/Perot. Then we had Clinton/Dole. Then Bush/Gore,Bush/Kerry,Obama/McCain and now Obama/Romney....I think Obama/McCain,Obama/Willard and Bush/Gore were the worst 3...

Well I've been voting since 1972 and I never voted FOR a major party candidate until Bill Clinton. When I voted FOR Obama it was only my second time doing so, it will also be my third.

So to answer your question, yeah, there have been far worse choices in the past as far as I am concerned.

My first national election was also in 1972. I voted absentee for Nixon from Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego.

Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
Going to the candidates' debate
Laugh about it, shout about it when you've got to choose
Every way you look at it you lose

released in 1968.

That was the year you could hit the wrong lever and accidentally vote for George Wallace.

This^^

I was just a kid in '88, but I can recall how bad that race was. Dukakis on a tank, Willie Horton, "Read my lips"... Just a farce.
