As well he should be

The enthusiasm-tide definitely seems to have turned in favor of the president since the convention ended.

Just another example, of the kind of affection and enthusiasm Obama inspires in Americans of all kinds, on the eve of winning a second term
Nope, that was a good-bye hug. Wishing Obama well as he gets ready to move to Hawaii.

Who care? It's a great photo, and 99% of the people who see it won't know or care if the owner is a Republican, a Democrat, or an alien. It shows Obama as fun and a good sport, and that's what mostly everybody will take away from it.

The Repubs on the board are getting desperate.

I just saw the video of it and it looked like Obama and the guy who lifted him up were having a lot of fun.

That's the same kind of enthusiasm/likability that they had for George W and look what happened there.

Default Obama Pizza hugger fears boycott

This is very funny:

Scott Van Duzer, the Obama hugger: Shop facing boycott - Kevin Cirilli - POLITICO.com

Silly Democrat! Boycotts are for the Left! Republicans are merely nauseated enough by this photo op to simply choose another eatery.

Dont worry. This guy and his eatery got enough national and local PR that they will get more customers short term AND long term. Folks that never heard of the place will want to go there just to check it out. Having a sitting president visit is ALWAYS good for your restaurant/bar/hotel. And a photo op like this guy got....priceless.

Gee, when the conservatives came out in force for Chik-Fil-A, it was to support the owner's homophobia (excuse me, "free speech"... about homophobia )

Now they want to boycott a guy who campaigns for peoples' health. Quite a nice bunch a folks you got in your party, Repubs, taking your pea-brained, mean-spirited politics out on a local businessman.

Van Duzar is that rarest of entities: a Republican with a heart, and a sense of responsibility for his fellow human beings. He is the OPPOSITE of the Ayn Rand hero, who guys like Mini Mitt Ryan worship. Scott just completed a 1900 mile bike ride from FLA to DC, to publicize the cause of giving blood to the Red Cross. That's why the president was in his shop in the first place, to thank him for his service.

I hope Scott's shop, Big Apple Pizza, in Ft Pierce FLA, prospers. People of conscience and compassion, of whatever political affiliation, should support this guy.
