Israeli filmmaker in hiding as protesters outraged by portrayal of Prophet Muhammad — RT

Quote:
The Israeli-made movie Innocence of Muslims which mocks the prophet Muhammad has caused outrage among ultra-conservative Muslims. US missions have been attacked in Egypt and Libya where an American was killed. The director has gone into hiding.

"Islam is a cancer, period," writer and director Sam Bacile told The Associated Press by phone speaking from an undisclosed location.

A California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew added that his film was meant to be a provocative political statement condemning Islam.

The two-hour movie, financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors, basically claims Muhammad was a fraud, showing Islam's prophet as a philanderer who approved of child sexual abuse, among other sins.
Well Sam, good work. You got the US Ambassador of Libya and three of his staff killed and the American Embassy in Cairo is under attack.

Was it really a provocative political statement or to incite violence??

What was the motivation for putting out this piece of garbage? A small number of Israeli's making a statement like that is enough to incite the whole middle east and further fuel hatred for the US. Thanks, friends.

Islamic nutjobs got the ambassador killed and embassy overrun...don't try shifting the blame to the innocent. It's like blaming an attractive woman for being raped. All the filmmaker did was tell the truth. We have become too cowardly to tell the truth, because some crazy wackos might get all butt-hurt. I have no sympathy for someone that will murder bacause someone questioned their silly superstitions. Screw 'em and their pedophile priest.

Anyone got a link to the whole movie? It sounds like it's worth reposting.

It doesn't matter that this guy did. You don't blame free speech for the murder done in response. Quit being an extremist-apologist. The Muslims do this all the time with every other religion. The world should encourage this man and everyone else to do the same thing. If the Islamo-Nazis want to wage war against everyone on earth - then they can meet Allah and their pedophile prophet sooner than they would like.

Why are liberals so supportive of Islamic violence?

Does this go along with the liberals here on c-d who call Jews 'occupiers' of Israel?

What an ugly mindset.

What Toyman and Bulldawg said. The extremists will use anything as an excuse...the simple fact is, they are the ones to blame, NOT the filmmaker.

Exactly.

If a fictionalized version of a story can cause real life people to be killed an riots all over the Middle East; maybe the film maker isn't the problem.

We should not give up our rights to appease a bunch of reactionary savages. And, yes, that is exactly that is exactly what they are acting like.

Yes, let's jump on the anti-Semetic band wagon and blame the evil joo for the murderous actions of radical Islamicists.

C-D has its share of nutjobers as well. Exactly how do you know what is true and what isn't? Are you a scholar on Islam?

Want to back that claim up with some links from credible sources? Even Israel is distancing themselves from him. Why did the film maker go into hiding? What does he have to fear?
