People have little tolerance watching our fellow citizens slaughtered by radicals while our leaders run off campaigning. Apparently you don't mind it one bit.

Reading foreign news sites that ARE telling what's going on.

Carney has already told America that it's not our fault.

I think you're not giving enough credence to the power of the leader of the free world's words. People listen when the President of the United States speaks. Tone, tenor, and the words are all digested by our allies and enemies alike. In this situation, weakness and appeasement are simply not the path to take. Incredibly strong words with attached consequences are needed. Think for a moment of historical Presidential speeches after we have been attacked. We, as a country, can inspire fear or hope, and have the goods to back it up. President Obama needs to strike a bit of fear in these countries to spur them into action right now; they need to clean up their own backyard. His responses thus far have been anemic.

CARNEY: We also need to understand that this is a fairly volatile situation and it is in response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration, or the American people, but it is in response to a video, a film that we have judged to be be reprehensible and disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it, but this is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims.

Well duh "obviously" it can't be Obama's fault. Simply amazing.
And how incredibly STUPID of the few Americans who gave them an "excuse." My anger is at the stupidity of the people who made that movie and WHOEVER called it to the attention of the people in the Middle East via YouTube. Just STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. Also, self-absorbed to put something out there without thinking of what the ultimate costs might be.

No stupid is rioting and killing people over a movie. Stupid is acting like this is the cause of the entire mess. Stupid is acting like an assassination of one of our ambassadors on the anniversary of 9-11 was because of this movie. Stupid.......well I could go on for hours never mind.

That's really assuming a lot to say that I don't "mind it one bit" that Americans were killed and totally untrue.

I also don't believe that Obama is focusing on campaigning right now. You do realize that what happens in this crisis may certainly affect the outcome of the election. It would not serve his purposes for re-election to ignore this situation and not deal with it. All the "campaigning" in the world would not help overcome a big failure on this situation.

It's ironic really. All these "small-government" folks calling for massive government crack-downs.

The very same people who don't believe that the feds can do anything right on a good day, seem to believe that there is some "magic" cure that could emanate from Washington, if only the administration would listen to lunatics like John Bolton et al.

Personally, I don't care what happens in those countries as long as our people are safely out of there.
We've spent way too long micro-managing their affairs and look how well that's paid off for us.

Stupid was providing an "excuse" and "cover" for the violence.

Most of the posters here a calling for the President to "answer questions" about why this happened and we didn't foresee it, etc., etc.

When the time is right, the President will address the country. If the time is right and the country needs that kind of direction.

Yes, our embassy was attacked, Americans were killed, but there has been no attack on our soil.

Most of these small gov folks are calling to bring all the Americans home and let the barbarians fight among themselves. But if you insist on leaving Americans there at least give them the protection they deserve like US Marines with real bullets.
