What has Obama done as the US Head of State to bring this country together, to unite us? All I see is a divided nation, but one of his jobs as head of government is that of a uniting role.

Well, last I checked the Constitution did not cite 'uniting' as an official duty of the president.

I'm sure that President Obama hoped to unit the various factions, Democrat, Republican, etc. Of course, he no sooner was elected than you had people start yelling that we have to 'take our country back'.

My brother-in-law, for example. Refuses to acknowledge President Obama as the President (although no one really has asked him to acknowledge such, besides me, when I feel playful). How do you 'unite' lunkheads who sit on their butts at home, collecting disability benefits, and all the while wasting time on the computer looking for articles that bash the President?

Recall, the country did unite, for a while, under President Bush, but it took the 9-11 attacks to achieve that. Other than that you had, again, lunkheads (for they inhabit all political wings), who hated Mr. Bush, simply because they like to hate those in power, or some other imagined reason.

Boehner: I got 98% of what I wanted.

McConnell: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for P. Obama to be a one-term president.

Yeah... Obama's at fault.

Nothing! He has been doing his best in dividing us, since he took office. Every other month he has a new segment of American society, or a different set of citizens that he is demonizing or despairing. If it's not banks, it's insurance companies, or corporate jet buyers, or "folks waving tea bags around," or it's doctors who are accused of removing perfectly healthy tonsils or cutting off feet, just to make a buck, or is the bitter clingers, and racist police departments acting stupidly.

I always find this topic interesting. Exactly how was obama going to unite a group of people whose mission was to make him a 1 term president. The simple fact, each party's platform is so different, its hard to unite everybody. It also doesn't help when obama tries to do things that republicans do, he still gets crushed for it. Republicans repeatedly want to limit federal government and return everything back to the states. What did obama do, allowed states to have flexibility with the work requirements for welfare and they say he is gutting welfare. Obamacare is basically a carbon copy of Romneycare and he gets crushed for it. If obama said the sky is blue, republicans would create an ad saying obama changed the color of the sky, its actually red.

I didn't know that we weren't together in the first place . I seem to be getting along fine with everybody....what's you guys' problem?

If how you interact with people depends on what president is in office, your life sucks. Get a new one because you're a loser.

Obama "SPREAD THE WEALTH AROUND" is spreading it around and eventually every tax payer will have to pay down the deficit .. Obama has all tax payers in a choke hold as he puts more and more people on the system by not wanting to create jobs. This is the future for the next generations-- very high taxes!

Don't take much to figure this president out.

Obama didn't have to do anything but get elected. Y'all came out of the closet on your own.
