No - you trade some of the value you have created (shoes) with someone who needs it, and in return you get something else of value (dollars) which also has value to the baker, so now you can go trade your dollars for his bread.

People like you always make me laugh. "We should just trade our goods and labor! Money is eeeeeevil!" You don't even realize that that IS capitalism.
People like you make me laugh with your screw everybody type attitude..... labor person to person can't be manipulated like money has been You guys should all know that with the QE2 and 3 crap...

With your architect statement..... well, you, as a Republican should know, cause you guys say these kinds of things "well, he should just work harder and pull up his bootstraps"

Thats right, isn't it? That is what the Neocons love saying about the poor..... so, you are contradicting yourself

Obviously, you have no idea what a true COMMUNITY is...... which is what I am talking about, rathe than a society that brainwashes people and exploits them and tells them "every man for themselves"

I would argue that china uses its resources much more efficiently than the U.S. does. They consume less than the whole of the U.S. while having 3 times the population.

Yeah, it's better to live under the iron fist of socialism instead. Ask a Czech, East German or Hungarian what they thought of it.

The comments so far seem to hold true to capitalism immorality. Humans are not the only inhabitants on earth and we are not entitled to all of earths resources. Capitalism encourages the wasteful use of our limited resources, negatively impacting the quality of life of the other co inhabitants ie: plants and animals. Capitalism is immoral.

Capitalism has done more to advance humanity and bring it out of poverty than any other force in all of human history. It encourages the efficient use of scarce resources. This is just turning into a bunch of troll bombs now though.

Capitalism has the capacity to be good in some ways, but lately, we have seen capitalism give us record amounts of poverty

Capitalism allows employers to ship jobs overseas for slave type conditions and leaves many thousands here screwed....... one of the reasons we see so much poverty lately in America.....

I think you've gone dizzy from smacking yourself in the head so much. WTF are you talking about? When did I *ever* talk about quantitative easing?

You're really batting 1,000 here... I'm not a Republican. Never have been, and probably never will be.

Clearly, I struck a nerve. Good. Maybe you'll think more about the nonsense you commit to the ether before actually hitting that "Submit" button.

Let me guess: You're an atheist.
