in 2000, during a GOP campaign event, i was walking around the back of city hall, back to my truck with a buddy of mine.
security agents stopped us on the sidewalk, asked us to wait while someone entered the building in front of us.
George W. Bush gets out of a black expedition, looks over at us and says "Hows it goin guys?" and pointed his finger at me like a gun, and winked and "shot" me.
i talk bad about him a lot, but that was a really fun moment for me.
Palin killed any chance he had to be President, but I have seen and talked to John McCain several times "in the wild", not at a campaign rally or political event. If you are in the right part of Arizona during the right part of the year, it is not at all unusual to see him out and about living life just like a regular person.

Self-explanatory. For all the emotion some of us invest in who the President is, how many of us have actually seen, shaken hands with, spoken with, etc., one of them? Stories/anecdotes welcome.
I'll start: I once saw Bill Clinton at a small rally on Waikiki Beach. I also once met George H. W. Bush, but he was still VP at the time.
I meet Bill Clinton at the Governors mansion in Tennessee. My grandfather was childhood friends with the governor, so we were invited.
Nice guy, I think I was 12, so he didn't say to much to me, just shook my hand and said it was nice to meet me.
Yep, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter...both were out of office when I did and I sat in a meeting with Jimmy Carter the second time.
