Midwest becomes a country or possibly joins with the Northeast.

Foolish and bad idea. Any call for dissolving the union is traitorous.
Why not? The Pacific Nortwest has nothing in common with the South. People in the North and South are so different. Why cling so much to unity in this situation?

The liberal "countries" would soon be bankrupt and we conservatives could get very, very good deals on their real estate.
No, because contrary to what many political junkies like to think, the U.S. isn't comprised of red and blue states and counties -- it's make up of mostly "purple" ones.
