Not sure what on Earth makes you think that's the case. The richest states in the country are mostly liberal. The poorest are red dominated states. The most successful countries in the world are liberal. The poorest are Conservative.
Do you people seriously not notice that almost no where in the world does Conservatism actually work?
When are you going to learn that this red state blue state is a bunch of BS? You need to see the whole picture.

Right, because China is the ideal model for civil liberties while Europe is doing just fine...
It seems we are on the precipice of something profoundly significant. What that is, I don't know...
Has anyone else been feeling this lately? It just feels like everything is slowly unraveling.
Our country is slowly unraveling. I have never felt so much hatred and divisiveness on politics, religion, and many other issues in my entire life as I have in the past few years and I am a senior citizen.
I wouldn't want the U.S. to break up into several countries but if this divisiness continues maybe it woulnd't be such a bad idea. I know we all have had differing opinions since its founding but this outright hatred and insults to the side you don't agree with is truly troubling me. There are many examples of that in this forum. Is too much multi-culturism doing it? I don't know but "United we stand, divided we fall".
You would have to read a bit deeper into the articles I've posted. Who are those 38 million people that still live here?
Maybe things are better up in SF, but down here in LA things are quite awful. It's truly the most voluntarily segregated city in the country. Sad but true...
I live in So. Calif. so I can vouch for that. Not only LA but many So. Calif. cities are.
Those "Blue" states still make most of the revenue and those "red" states still suck the country dry. Even by GDP. . .and the list is even better by capita (i.e. CT is VERY rich but small so its not on this list)
Even if all the TossUps went Red, you wouldn't equal the Blue states.
RealClearPolitics - Today 2012 map

10 *North C 407,400 -TOSS UP

California, on its own, is 13% of GDP . . .
