That doesn't mean you know anything about mental health, because clearly you don't.
I suggest you start with some reading in the mental health section of your local Barnes and Noble.
It clearly is, because your retrogressive attitude is pretty common, and kids keep killing themselves. Cause and effect?
I know it's because they're "weak" and all, but something must be done.
Retrogressive attitude? For defending myself physically when being assaulted physically? Surely you jest. Say China invades the US. Should we go the UN and say, "China's invading us, please stop them!" No, we will shove them back into the Pacific right away. If a rapist grabs you and attempts to drag you into a dark alley, are you going to just let him go at it and then go tell the police later? No, you're going to fight back, hopefully irreversibly damaging his man parts. If the notorious school bully punches me in the face for the unwarranted reason of asking out the "girl he likes", you can damn sure guarantee he isn't going to get away with it and will think twice about doing it again to someone else.
LOL, if "read on mental health" (which I've researched plenty as I spend most of my spare time researching various random subjects) is your only retort to my statement of people who commit suicide being weak-minded; I suppose we're done here. I'm still unsure how anyone can disagree with the statement. I can understand sympathy, but think logically.
You are right though, something does need to be done. Bullying shouldn't be tolerated and sometimes the only way to remedy the situation is to knock the bully out of the bully. I've seen it happen, I've done it myself and I've stood up to bullies for other people. It does work, especially the younger they are. The longer they go with the idea that people are just going to tolerate being bullied, the longer they will continue being a bully.
This all started when the girl exposed herself on her webcam to some creep @ age 13. I wish people who are contemplating suicide would talk to someone. What ashame.
Amanda Todd's memorial page on Facebook has been very active since the teenager's death, drawing more than 700,000 Likes. Not all the activity on the site has been positive, however. The page has also been beset by trolls looking to anonymously stir up controversy by leaving upsetting messages on the site. [more]
Im glad this idiot was fired... JUST ANOTHER LOSER LIKE THE ONES WHO CAUSED THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
What's with these people telling sad stories with palm cards filmed and black and white? If I were cynical I'd say it's becoming almost popular, perhaps you know, if I die I might as well get some publicity out of it.
Of course what happened to her is tragic. Goes without saying the internet is still a dangerous place - deceptively so. Sending pics of your breasts to strangers, goes without saying that's a no no, but of course she never expected it to blow up like that. The creep who did that, I guess what he did was cruel and mean, but if only she had been able to handle it better. I mean it's not the end of the world. That's why I'm wary of facebook, what people can just snap of me and put up for the world to see. The other stuff is really sad, I'd like to think a minority of really mean-spirited people are like that but I think it's getting worse. It's easy to dismiss it but when you're actually experiencing it it's something else. I wasn't bullied anything like this, but even being alone with no friends in school because of my shyness made me feel really depressed about things. It's hard to have perspective on things as a teen, that's why they're so vulnerable to suicide and self-harm. My advice to teens is to be 100% honest with friends and family: those who leave you don't really care about you. Trying to hide things because you're afraid of further embarrassment is the worse thing you should do. Your family should be there to help you, not condemn/judge you. It's obvious a lot of Amanda's friends were fake friends.
It is to a 12 year old, 13 year old, 14 year old and 15 year old girl!
When she was just 12, a man in an internet chat room convinced her to flash her breasts,
Parents let a 12 year old girl have unlimited unsupervised Internet access?
Ineptitude, ignorance and gross negligence on the parents part.....
