Last week during congressional testimony from State Department officials who were on the ground in Libya, we heard over and over again that more security for the consulate in Benghazi was requested but denied.
We also heard repeatedly from Democrats, including Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee Elijah Cummings, claiming a lack of funding was at fault for less security in Benghazi during the time of the attack on 9/11 that left four Americans dead. State Department officials said funding had nothing to do with the situation and now, Chairman Darrell Issa has revealed the State Department is sitting on $2 billion for consulate security, but won't spend it.
They had plenty of money to have a full Marine contingent at the Embassy in Barbados.
They had plenty of money to give the Vienna Embassy a fleet of Chevy Volts and a charging station.
They had plenty of money to give people on welfare cellphones (while a big Obama donor is the owner of the cellphone company that is profiting from it).
And with $2 Billion in money earmarked for Embassy Security just sitting around, I guess Steven's life was expendable.
I just saw Dick Harpootlian on Megyn Kelly's show. He is blaming the victim. Chris Stevens shouldn't have gone to Benghazi without adequate security. Why did he do that? He shouldn't have done that.
That's the new dem talking point. It's the fault of the victims.

Yet another fact being ignored by Republicans and far right-wingers. The events related to the Benghazi attack are many and layered. There were many contributing reasons to what happened. Clearly, Stevens did not feel that the trip to Benghazi was so dangerous that there was a good chance he would lose his life, (which goes against those claiming that EVERYONE should have known, because it was 9/11, the consulate office was in extreme danger...Stevens knew the country and the situation better than anyone else, and his assessment was that there was danger but not of the intensity which took place that night). His decision to go was just ONE of the factors involved in the tragedy.
