In the heat of the moment, nobody got a shot off. That's the simple matter of it. Not in ANY of these situatiuons.

Have your guns, and your dream that it gives you confidence to 'end the battle right then and there.'

Simple facts show that you have a much better chance when no gun is involved, no resistance is put forth, and the scene plays out with you losing a few trinkets, but coming away with your life.

There is a reason the police encourage people NOT to resist or be a hero.

Sure, it hurts your pride, but hurt pride is a lot better than a stopped heart.
Looks like a 12 year old girl, shooting through a closet door, got her target.

Seems like this 12 year old was able to not become a statistic....

Every situation is different. These people were happy that someone had a gun:

Report: Man with gun ends stabbing spree at Utah store

I carry a gun whenever I legally can and I have guns in the home for home defense. My home defense weapon is a shotgun. All I need to do is point it at the perp and shoot and he's going down. However, I can hit the side of a barn anyway. It wouldn't be too smart to open fire in a crowded dark movie theater filled with tear gas. I'm sure if someone had fired in that situation you'd be bitching about that.....

Nah...that's a bunch of bull. Who ever told you that anyway? Surely no one who ever bought a $2,500 Wilson CQB 1911 .45 ACP.
