Taqiyyah is not 'Lying for the purposes of Jihad.' Taqiyyah is a legal doctrine which has to do with protecting a persecuted minority, in this case Shi'ite Muslims within the wider Sunni community. Most Sunnis recognise Taqiyyah's existence but few accept it as a doctrine. Note further that the few years that Pres. Obama lived in a Muslim community it was in Indonesia which is a majority Sunni community.
