I'll vote for the Republican in the race if you can find a way to dig up Teddy Roosevelt and breathe life into him.

Or Romney if he promises promises to end the Drug War, promises that he won't attack Iran in any way or assist in an attack on Iran. Will pull U.S. troops out of all foreign bases, and will immediately put tariffs on all foreign products....i'll vote for him.
Sounds like you are much more toward Libertarian than Liberal......especially with the drug stance and military involvement

Obama is bad..... Romney is bad

As for the Roosevelt bit...... would you settle for Eisenhower?

I'd be less inclined to take Ike, but i'd take him...yes. But if you can dig up T.R., I'll personally escort Obama out of the White House.

As for being libertarian vs liberal, i'm frighteningly liberal. Like, i have no feeling in my right arm and right leg.

But i certainly have some libertarian leanings...especially on drugs and foreign entanglements. You'd be hard pressed to sneak in a war pass me. And the Pentagon would shudder at the mention of my name if i had any power over their budget.

Yeah, I feel the same way about wars..... short of another WW2 scenerio, I have felt we did not need to be involved in any of the wars since then at all

I would love to see the budget cut across the board personally, but the banks, military and corporates would hate me for that

You should only expect what you deserve. And given your response, the edit was wasteful spending.

Overall, yes, I'm happy with the president's record. Turning around the economy, getting health care to millions, fighting Al Quaida, fixing the Civil Rights division of the DOJ, are all good accomplishments. I'm also happy that eh finally endorsed marriage equality, although his reluctance to do so earlier seems to have been poll-driven. I'm not that hot on the erosions of civil liberties, however, and Obama has played an active role in that. I like the proposal to halt the wild inflation of higher education as well, since it's plain that this will harm the country more as time goes on. I'm not so sure that Race to the Top will help improve k-12 education, however. I also approve of the selections of Sotomayor and Kagan to the Supreme Court, but I think he needs to do more, regardless of the often mindless opposition that GOP senators put up, to fill openings in the lower courts.

All in all, a solid B. he's made mistakes, but he also has a strong list of accomplishments.

What do you wish Obama would've done differently?

What would be your ideal from the Obama adminstration? So far I feel like i've noticed a common theme of a bigger stimulus and a single-payer healthcare system. Anything else or are those two the big issues?

Let the Bush tax cuts expire.

I was against the payroll tax reduction.

I don't feel like I see a lot of honesty in terms of self-critique from the left. Most Republicans will tell you of what they are unhappy with within the GOP. I disliked Bush's foreign policy, I am not a huge fan of Mitt, I don't like the overwhelming appeal to religion in the GOP, and I don't like the quasi-anarchist stances of the tea-party. However, I still consider myself to be a devout republican.

What about the Obama adminstration do liberals dislike?

And again...I'm not looking for a hyper-politicized argument. I don't plan on trying to retort any answers on here. There are TONS of threads for that. I just want to know what the left dislikes about the left.
Then you weren't looking for any answers, you were looking for partisan hacks.
Got it.

Happy, but not overjoyed.

I won't give an explanation as of why because my opinion will be classified as wrong.

No...I'm not looking for partisan hacks. I'm looking for what liberals like and dislike about the Obama administration. I feel like I see or hear nothing even remotely critical from liberals about Obama. I am just curious if that is because you guys don't think he has done anything wrong or if you just dont' want to discuss it because it's an election season.

If Obama hasn't done anything you dislike...then thats fine. I'm just curious if he has...what is it....if he hasn't...what do you like most about his presidency?
