Obama has a mandate. He doesn't need to the GOP at all now.

No more elections.

Demographics permanently swinging the way of the progressive movement.

Most Americans absolutely against cutting entitlements while having no problem jacking up taxes on the rich.

I can't figure out why Obama would be against the fiscal cliff...it is a Christmas present for his party!!

Dems own the White House, Senate and the Supreme Court...game over.

The GOP and the conservatives don't have a foot to stand on.

You are 100% correct. The Republicans would be best served by getting out of the way, abstaining from most votes and let the country see the results of what voting for higher taxes, more regulation and less entrepreneurial incentive does to the country. Get out of the way so that the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves when the whole country looks like CA or IL.

No matter what happens in the House the Progressives that control the Senate can just send any non-progressive bill back down to the House for reexamination.

And if a conservative leaning bill happens to slip by the Senate the lame duck progressive president can simply veto it before a round of afternoon golf.

Surely there are no pictures of prior presidents playing golf, right?
