In the mind of most liberal thinking Americans who stand staunchly on the side of America’s struggling 99%, there isn’t an ounce of doubt that tens of millions of fellow hard working and well-meaning Americans who religiously cast their ballot as “Republicans” are in reality being brainwashed, hoodwinked and manipulated by the new {but not improved} John Birch Society and their rambunctious “grandchildren”,… The Tea Party.
This insidious manipulation to dupe moderate Republicans into believing “America and freedom” is under siege by Socialism and Communism is being orchestrated by well-spoken, well-groomed and well-paid ultra-conservative politicians. Their “game” is to create in the mind of White voters a strong belief that America’s White European heritage is under attack and if gone unchallenged, White American culture will go the way of the dinosaur.
Historians and older Americans have heard this rant before, it’s not new, indeed, creating boogeymen while simultaneously selling fear and hatred is an ancient tactic that is often used by power-hungry humans.
We fended them off in this election, but we need due dilligence to keep these treacherous entities out of government. Every now and again these types emerge and brainwash the not so intellectual and unworldly that are ripe for picking. The also feed into the already established hate groups that lie dormant until the dog whistle is blown.

As if they owned these lands, pompous elitist WASP snobs. It is time to eradicate them from Government. They can hold their beliefs but they will not tread on me.
we've been through this on CD. The peak of the JBS was 50 years ago when they had maybe 100,000 members. I don't know how many members they have now, but I have never met anyone who claimed to be a member. I bet the membership is in 4 digits now.
It is always a favored target of the left though. The left has an unending appetite for devils against which to rail. How else to explain the ongoing interest in a group with so few members? Anyone here ever met an actual JBS member???

Membership is larger than many would believe or realize.

Changing the name of a movement, does not change the movement. The hijacking of what might have started out as grassroots movement (Tea Party) has clearly taken on an insidious agenda. Just look at the main players and it's easy to sniff their agenda out. If you had read the article, you'd see that this is crystal clear.

Thanks for this thread. Many people don't know about these nutcases from the 1950s, who saw a communist plot in fluoridated water.
I have some good friends who are longtime members, including one of their writers. Great people. The JBS is not my cup of tea, however, for a number of reasons, but I'm a well-wisher.

Yes, I knew a Father & Son that were.
Many things they warned about decades ago have come to pass since.
That is like saying that the left winf gof the democratic party is just part of the american socilaism party. No one buys that Tea Party is anthig other than a movement.
