Home Depot actually already provides a health care package for its employees, so it's actually its competitor chains who will run into more issues. I think the only point of concern might be that if his competitors are agile enough and do provide employee benefits (by regulation) competitive with Home Depot or even better, then it eliminates the talent pool advantage Home Depot might have.

That being said, you can lessen your dependency on mega-players. Support local business, as much as you can.
Would be nice of the obama administration supported small businesses

I so agree with you. I would frequent the smaller owerd home improvement centers. But honestly, they don't seem to have the variety of what i am looking for.

Nor the competetive pricing.

I will buy smaller items from them, even if a bit more. But for home remodeling, it is H.D. or Lowes, or one of the well known lumber comapnies we buy from.

H.D. i have to love them, they have given us substantial savings when buying larger quanitites. Well we know one of the managers pretty good, so get good deals on pretty much what we buy. For the home improvements we do ourselves, we need the savings. Although i will not buy tile, or flooring from them, i have found a better outlet to buy from, better material, better savings. And their prices beat H.D. AND LOWES with far superior quality.

I do understand there will be more businesses leaving the states, make it impossible for them, they will leave.

I ran over to my local hardware store (SHOCKS Hardware in Gardena for more than 60 years) just last week, and it was closed up. No more local hardware stores here anymore. That was the last one.

Menards is making a huge hole in HD business here since they moved in. We have 3 big home businesses. Lowes, HD and now Menards. Competition is good for lower prices. I'll see who closes first with Obamacare.

Don't ask me why another place i like to browse is Harbor Freight, they have some good deals, and always have savings coupons.

I love their electronic fly swatter, gets them every time, and for $1.00 can't beat that.

Hate flys dirty nasty things with a passion, ,and this gets them every time. Have one in our current residence, and all our rental properties.

For those in Riverside County, cause i have a couple rental properties in the area, I love Peterman Lumber. Their prices, their mouldings, cannot be beat. Their selection is great, and their prices cannot be beat.

I loved HD for years. Then, I started hearing Spanish spoken at every turn when I was in there on Sunday afternoons. Everyone was Hispanic and I had a hard time understanding them (not being racist, they just talked so fast)I liked HD products, I could spend a whole day in there, just looking at everything...LOL. I just recently started going to Lowes. I have to say that their service is great so far in helping me in the lumber dept, except for the people who don't know what they are talking about....youngsters.....<s>.

The HD guy in the article says they are working to restore their customer svc reputation. I hope so and I never use the self check out unless it is just a screwdriver and a couple of small items. They always have checkout people on hand.

Apparently it had nothing to do with elections but everything to do with profits.

If it was based on the "socialist Obama" then why is most of his business and growth because of Commie China?

And if you want in on the best growth rate, you'll head to China.

Are you saying we should completely adopt all of China's government policies since he likes it?

So Obama is destroying small businesses now?? Gawd, give it a rest already, he won fair and square.
Those mom and pops were dead and gone long before Obama took office. So who are you blaming for that? Clinton?
Such sorry excuses and sour grapes.
