Addiction counselor charged with murder in DUI

An "an incredibly sweet, " "respected drug and alcohol counselor" hit a pedestrian and drove several miles with the dying victim embedded in her windshield. For years the therapeutic left told us that addiction was a disease rather than a moral failing.

If so we are a long way from a cure, when the physicians cannot heal themselves. Addiction is a choice, and addiction 'treatment' is based on junk science, little better than witch doctor practice. The taxpayer is already paying for these witch doctors, and under ObamaCare it will only get worse.

I wasn't sure how ~ but I knew you would find a way to blame this on Obama.

Once an addict, always an addict.

Such a sad story. I vaguely recall a similar incident years ago; seems like it was a nurse who drove home with a body in her grill.

So do you think addiction is a disease, or not?

Yeap, it was here in Ft Worth Tx.

Chante Jawan Mallard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Mallard then drove home, leaving the injured Biggs stuck in her windshield, and parked her car in her garage.

Mallard became a suspect after she was reported talking and laughing about the incident at a party some four months after the events. "I hit this white man," Mallard allegedly told acquaintance Maranda Daniel, laughing.

During the trial, Tarrant County Medical Examiner Nizam Peerwani testified that, had Mallard taken Biggs to a hospital, he would have recovered from his injuries. Other experts testified that they agreed that Biggs would have survived. "There's not a member of the Fort Worth Fire Department that could not have saved Mr. Biggs' life," testified Capt. Jim Sowder.[5] Mallard was convicted of murder in June 2003, with the 50-year murder sentence and 10-year tampering sentence to run concurrently. She will be eligible for parole in 2027.

It's a disease of choice. If you choose to never use drugs/alcohol, you never become addicted.

errr...no. I didn't "blame this on Obama." If you can read, you would realize that I implicitly blame the driver. I did say that under ObamaCare it will get worse. And I believe that it will. If you don't, tell me why rather than tossing out partisan barbs.

How about an intelligent response rather than a kneejerk partisan barb????

Except for the actual science that proves that you don't know what you're talking about...

Why don't you read up about the physiological occurrences that define addiction.
