I am 100% positive that the economy will improve merely by its own natural progression, and 110% positive that both sides of the political spectrum will claim 100% responsibility.
THis is precisely what I was thinking when I clicked on this thread. Reps to you, Auto.
Just like in sports, when you're winning everything is fine - no other issues matter. When the economy is good, all the other stuff matters far less to the vast majority.
Do you think it's possible that Obama (seeing the last 4 years as a disaster) could change his stance a
small amount & actually work with the Republicans ?
Republicans are just as responsible for the spending and government growth so it would be naive to think unity would solve anything.

Can't argue with this. Hopefully both sides of the aisle will recognize that things have to change in a big way and take some meaningful steps towards reducing the debt.

Actually, the economy will be doing just fine, as it usually is after a Democrat takes the White House (and he has enuff time to clean up his predecessor's mess)!
The question is, how long it'll take before the Republicans change their tune from "the sky is falling!" to... "oh, things would have improved anyway"?!
