He won't cut spending and plans to spend even more. Democrats are trying to increase the debt ceiling as part of the Bush tax discussions. Obama wants more money to spend and the middle class is wider tax revenue base then a much smaller rich base.
Increase taxes on the rich = $$$$
Increase taxes on the rich + increase taxes on the middle class = A hell of a lot more money $$$$$$$$$$$$$
The mask is off, and so are the gloves. Obama and his Leftist supporters see their window of opportunity to finally dispense with our constitutional republic and permanently install a ruling class that will “fundamentally transform” the country we love into their Socialist Utopia. They can almost see the finish line.
We can’t say were weren’t warned.
The week before the 2008 election, Obama promised his supporters that he was “only five days away from fundamentally transforming this nation.”
In his 2011 State of the Union address, Obama bemoaned that our “messy” and “contentious” system makes things “harder because we…argue about everything,” a clear shot at the members of our co-equal branches of government who dared to assert their constitutional authority to represent the American people rather than bend the knee to the Executive branch’s every whim.
He then admiringly observed:
…Of course, some countries don’t have this problem. If the central government wants a railroad, they build a railroad, no matter how many homes get bulldozed. If they don’t want a bad story in the newspaper, it doesn’t get written.
in March, Obama openly complained that his job would be so much easier if he were President of China, able to issue orders without media scrutiny or challenges from other branches of government.
I'm middle class with a family (wife, two kids), and I'm willing to pay more taxes if it will help the financial situation.
Same here. I just have little hope that the government would use the money that way. If they would cap spending then I would feel better about it. Since WWII each new dollar of revenue has been met with $1.17in additional spending. Since we haven't even had a budget in years, I have little reason to believe that anything else would happen. The first response is always to ask for more money from the people. They never look to see where they can save first. Remember when Mr. Obama pointed out the various redundant agencies? Where are those cuts? Remember pay-go? It's all lip service. Once again, people are going to be asked to give the drunk a drink.
