I love this time of year. It brings out the nutso's all over the place. I especially love the folks who consider Hawaii some exotic far off land, never stooping to think it's part of the USA and only a short, cheap, plane ride from the entire west coast of said USA, and where many go for a long weekend getaway because it's no big deal.
The sad thing is, we will probably add over 200,000 more people onto Food Stamps in those three weeks. It's like a sick twisted contrast between the haves, and the have nots.
Which is why it is time to increase taxes on the top 1%!
1. It would make no genuine difference and save essentially no money.
2. It would have no symbolic value, since the majority of Americans have no problem with it in the first place.
3. The haters would find something equally objectionable to whine about.
I would venture to say that yes, in a nation of 300 million there will be MANY Americans who feel as you do. There are also be MANY Americans who could not find America on a map. One in five to be exact.

As to #1: eh.
As to #2: what a pity. Apathy. Gotta love it.
And #3? Yep, agree with it 100%. Except that I see an abundance of "haters" on both sides.
What I am curious about is why you compared my thoughts to an assertion that one out of five Americans can't find America on a map. Hmm. Yeah....your correlation is one more example of why moderates look at the left and say, "no thanks, we'll pass".
only the truly ignorant still point at Bush as an arguement for obamas many many failings and short comings.
Only the truly ignorant don't understand the difference between "blaming" Bush and using his alleged presidency as a comparison. Especially since the comparison makes your whining look stupid and racist.
I'd almost prefer that he stays on vacation so he has less time to pass BS legislation.
The POTUS does not pass legislation. That is Congress' job. Didn't anyone take government in high school or at least read the Constitution?
Article 1 of the US Constitution states "all legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives." The House and Senate are equal partners in the legislative process—legislation cannot be enacted without the consent of both chambers. However, the Constitution grants each chamber some unique powers. The Senate ratifies treaties and approves presidential appointments while the House initiates revenue-raising bills.
Personally I think it's great that the Obamas are vacationing.. I hope they spend the next 4 years on one great big vacation. As long as they are on vacation he is not signing legislation. Sounds good to me!!
He can certainly sign legislation while on vacation.
I think that the bill should be divided up between all of those that voted for him.
I think the first family should pay for the bill themselves.
