I don't see where he was shot before. He was safe behind a locked door... with a phone. Whoever shot him in the past, didn't kill him (obviously). He couldn't return the favor? That kind of ingratitude doesn't go unpunished.

Guy is out causing trouble in the middle of the night. Hits the clerk first. Clerk shoots him. Sounds justified to me.

I know that store clerk should be a boxer. He shrugged off that huge punch without flinching. That would have have me running in a hurry, that's a bad azz clerk..!
It would probably been more appropriate to just hold the scum at gun point until the law arrives, but this was spur of the moment and the decision to shoot was made under extreme duress, he wasn't given ten minutes to think it over. I'm sure he remembered being robbed and shot before. I back the clerk 100%. Those marchers are typical, who cares what the facts are, lets protest..!
It's a shame the clerk was fired, the owner did that to cover his own behind in case of retribution. Can't blame him, but it was cowardly.

While it is not the course of action I would have taken had I been the clerk, his actions were justifiable. I would have knocked the punk out. I would only pull out my firearm if I felt like he was going to pull out a weapon or if I felt my life was in imminent danger. If the punk just wanted a fist fight with no weapons involved, I would have been more than willing to oblige.

In this case, I'm siding with the clerk.
I do think it was a mistake to open the door, however. The whole situation could have been avoided.

People have died from getting hit in the head like that. What kind of animal thinks they can walk up to someone and try to knock them out? What kind of idiot thinks they can just punch someone like that without fear of retaliation?

Should not have opened the door and called police. That clerk has some ****ty judgement skills. However if this is a stand your ground issue then too bad that frigging punk didn't get it between the eyes.

How many times do these Black Activists march when some low life black punk shoots someone in the commision of a crime or just for fun.

Oh wait now I understand that POS that got shot looks like a son Obama would have. Silly me.

“I’m just hurt,” said Allexander Calloway. “He didn’t have to shoot my son. He didn’t have to shoot my son.”
Well, your son didn't have to be out at 3:30 in the morning punching a cashier either dumb*ss.
