What we need is government regulation of this business preventing them from doing this, right OP?

Absolutely not. They should leave people the hell alone. Its none of their business if someone gets the flu or not.

They don't need to be working for an employer that requires it.

Make up your mind, child. You're all about the freedom, right? Well this private company is free to require its employees to have shots and the employees are free to quit if they don't want one. This should not be an issue for a freedom-lover like yourself.

They are a private employer, like what was stated above. Also, most healthcare workers are required to get specific vaccinations, depending on the employer. It is also interesting you and the website are making a stink about this since this was stated in your article:

employees refusing the shot were permitted to opt out for religious or health reasons, so long as they signed special forms and submitted them before the cut-off date.

Those who opted out could have just given a bogus religious reason, like many people do in regards to school enrollment. I know people who said they were "followers of the Jedi" in order to be exempt from vaccine requirements. You can also get a doctor to sign a form stating you cannot get one. It is nothing like the Nazis being this is a private company and employees had a way to opt out. [/LEFT]

They are leaving those who choose not to get the shot alone. The company is not required to give them a job and paycheck.

Private employers aren't states. So they cannot act like one.
