Really...why didn't he go back to his homeland Mexico for human rights!!!

Instead of taking a kidney that could have been given to a "legal American citizen"

And more likely than not, that kidney was actually not very compatible with the patient. Not only are Americans being denied organs because illegals are moved to the very top of the waiting lists ahead of Americans, the policies for cadaver donors is actually not to always give them to the most compatible patient but they will actually give them to someone who is not a good match for political correctness reasons -- knowing the kidney will not last long in the patient.

The government? He waited for eight years for the transplant, and the operation was paid by the hospital, and he will have to pay $10K a year for the rest of his life. Where is the government in this picture? Are you saying the government should force private hospitals to treat only US citizens?

Are you going to actually claim that no American citizens have had an 8 year wait? The illegal should have been deported to his own country and an American should have been given that transplant.

No way should illegals be moved ahead of Americans in the organ transplant lines.

Their own country does organ transplants, that is where they should go for these procedures.

The irony --

Some doctors suggesting Mexican organ transplants | KVOA.com | Tucson, Arizona

The most common transplant procedure is to get a new kidney. Here in the U.S. it could cost anywhere from $200,000 - 250,000. Page said in Mexico it's not even close to that. He said, "The cost of surgery in Mexico is about at least one fifth of what it is here in the United States.

Then there's the long waiting list. Here in the States it can take a year or two to get approved but Page said in Mexico they could get you in, in about 3 months, which could make a big difference to your health.

How about we let private hospitals decide who they treat, as opposed to have the government dictate it. Would that make sense to you? Apparently not.
