This is not a "white" problem. Not any more than the DC Sniper was a "black" problem.

There is nothing to be gained in pointing fingers on this.

Yea...sooner than you think, huh? Again, folks have been hearing that for a few thousand years.

People have the same morals, character, and decency that they've always had. Things haven't really changed all that much. There was no magical time in American history when people were better than they are now. In fact, historically, Americans probably behaved much worse towards their fellow citizens.

OK, you're right. Huckabee is as much of an idiot as those that insist that OJ didn't commit murder.

I agree. It really isn't....not at the end of the day.

There were mass murders in history long before the advent of video games or even television. Media is a convenient excuse for those that are desperate to explain the unexplainable. But then, what can I say, I'm a Gen Xer that grew up with video games and remembers when music was blamed for multiple tragedies involving children. I didn't drink the kool-aid then, I refuse to drink it now.

If someone's precious angel is screwed up enough to shoot someone in such a manner, they have far bigger issues and problems than video games and music.
Try and keep up. I stipulated that these games do not seem to breed spree killers. What I argued is that they help desensitize kids to violence, which causes a seismic shift in our culture. Are you prepared to argue that violent video games have no negative effects on kids? That it's just the "bad ones" who will be negatively altered?

Our founding fathers owned slaves. Appealing to their authority doesn't instantly validate your position, not when so many of the "norms" of their era are so completely out of step with today's society.

Another foolish, petulant attempt at rational argument.

If we had Western European gun laws, our murder rate would plummet, inspite of the fact that someone could/might/probably never make another OKC fertilizer bomb.

Oh wait, that's right! If only all the babysitters in the Murrow Building daycare center had their own uzi's! Then, they could have all ran outside and shot McVie first. Yep. That's always the problem. Just not enough guns handy.
