It's not difficult to find out.

Just because what we're doing isn't working doesn't mean you have a knee jerk reaction and do something else that won't work. The problem isn't guns. It's the people using the guns. THAT is the issue that needs to be addressed. Until you address that, you fix nothing.
That's all liberals do: Wring their hands and whimper, "Mommie it's not working. What shall I do?"

And then they compare guns to testicles.

It took America years to get to this place. It started with Madeline Murray O'Hare and Dr. Benjamin Spock.

We can't fix ourselves overnight.

Funny, one of the teachers herded her kids into a small space and they prayed.

I didn't think they allowed that. It's a start.

It's not rocket science as long as you have the explosive agent.

That said, do people really think having everybody armed can stop this????

We have the most guns per capita, and we have one of the highest firearm related death rates, only outdone by countries that are either third world or deling with drug problems caused largely by US policies........something to think about.

The question has little bearing on the issue with guns. A bomb vs a gun They are not the same and they are not dealt with in the same manor. Since the Ok City bombing there has been more tracking of purchases of the fertilizer used to eliminate the Murrows bldg. That was the response to that action.

Now we are faced with the question of people being tired of the easy access of guns and little background checks to see who is seeking to buy them. Will new restrictions eliminate the threat? no will it reduce it? yes.

I think people are feed up with the NRA and their wanting to protect people so they can buy assault weapons. These have 1 purpose - to kill a large amount of people fast. They have nothing to do with hunting. There is NO reason anyone needs a .223 Bushmaster. There is little need for pistols with large magazines. I live in a state that is about to issue its 1 millionth concealed carry permit. - That is about 5% of our population. Our death due to guns has not gone down. We are not any safer and probably less so as the Adam 's of the world can get them and make their mark.

There are so many actions we can take that don't preclude gun ownership, isn't it time we take it? Have enough people died yet?

No I can't stop all deaths by guns. but isn't action needed? when we were losing so many due to car accidents we installed seatbelts and then airbags... These were successful. We were losing more people annually to auto accidents than all of the Vietnam War. Did we eliminate the deaths? No but many are alive today that wouldn't have been.

We can't save everyone, where there is a will but we can make things harder where perhaps a preemption can save a few. When you take the traditional stand of the NRA would it change your mind if it was your child yesterday?

Have you looked at Britain and Australia? Both countries provide strong evidence that gun control really does work to prevent massacres and homicides. But for the same results in America, the government would need to buy back 300 millions guns. I don't see that happening.

If potential shooters knew that, say, teachers were armed or there were armed guards in schools, and that they would face return fire if they went into a school, do you think that could deter even some of them?
